The Thieme publishing group takes the protection of personal data, and hence your privacy, very seriously. We would like to tell you how we protect your data. Collection, Processing and Use of Personal Data


Personal data are collected only if you voluntarily disclose them to us in connection with your order for goods or when registering for our Newsletter or other services. We use the data you supply to carry out and process your order. We may also use your data to tell you about products and services that might interest you. By signing up to receive products and services from the Thieme publishing group you agree to your data being used in this way. You may opt out at any time. Data are also collected from this website in anonymised form and stored for optimisation purposes, using etracker GmbH technologies (www.etracker.de). User profiles are created from these data, using a pseudonym. Cookies (see below, Use of Cookies) may be used for this purpose. Cookies only ever collect and store data in pseudonymised form. The data are not used to identify visitors to this website personally and they are not collated with data relating to the pseudonym user.
Disclosure of Personal Data, Credit Checks
If necessary for delivery of the goods your data will be passed on to the forwarding company appointed to handle the delivery. For payment processing purposes we pass on your payment data to the bank handling the payment. If we agree to advance delivery we may ask SCHUFA Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65201 Wiesbaden to run a credit check to protect our legitimate interests. Your interests meriting protection will be taken into account as provided by law. No information will be disclosed to any other third party.

Use of Cookies

Newsletter and Mailing Lists


We can send you information about our products and services via our Newsletter service if you wish. In this case personal data are collected if you supply them of your own accord when registering for our Newsletter, if you take part in a survey or Internet game or if you e-mail an enquiry to us.
As part of the personalised services offered by Georg Thieme Verlag KG your registration data will be collected and processed for customer relationship management purposes and to help us tailor our e-services to demand. You can update, correct or delete personal data by sending a short e-mail to kundenservice@thieme.de.

Right to Demand Information


Under the Federal Data Protection Act you have a right to demand information free of charge on your stored personal data and a right to have the data corrected, barred or deleted.

Right of Revocation


Personal data which you have supplied to us may be deleted at any time. Deletion does not apply to data used for charging or accounting purposes.
You may object to data collection and storage at any time with future effect.
